Ice Age: Continental Drift (also known as Ice Age 4: Continental Drift or simply Ice Age 4) is a 2012 American 3-D computer-animated comedy film directed by Steve Martino and Mike Thurmeier, starring the voices of Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Queen Latifah, Seann William Scott, Josh Peck, Keke Palmer, Chris Wedge, Peter Dinklage, Jennifer Lopez, Drake and Nicki Minaj.

It is the fourth installment of the Ice Age series, being produced by Blue Sky Studios and distributed by 20th Century Fox, and the first one not to be directed by Carlos Saldanha. It will be the second Ice Age installment that will utilise Digital 3D. It is scheduled to be released in the US on July 13, 2012, three to six years after its predecessors The Meltdown and Dawn of the Dinosaurs, and ten years after the release of the original Ice Age. This will be the first Ice Age film to be shot in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio.





Plot

Taking place a few years after the events of Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Scrat's pursuit of the acorn has world-changing consequences, forcing Manny, Sid and Diego on an adventure, where Sid reunites with his long lost family, Diego finds his love interest, Shira.

Scrat's nutty pursuit of the cursed acorn, which he's been after since the dawn of time, has world-changing consequences - a continental cataclysm that triggers the greatest adventure of all for Manny, Diego and Sid. In the wake of these upheavals, Sid reunites with his cantankerous Granny, and the herd encounters a ragtag menagerie of seafaring pirates determined to stop them from returning home.
